Robin Anderson - ERYT 200/500 - Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher, Program

Director and Founder of Robin's Yoga & Healing Center, LLC
(formerly Yoga with Robin - Healing Arts, Center, LLC)

doTERRA Wellness Advocate

"I teach yoga to share with others the wonderful feeling of peace, well-being, and wholeness that I have found in yoga. I enjoy offering my guidance and acceptance in the personal journey of each of my yoga students & clients, helping them to find greater health – physically, emotionally, and spiritually bringing them greater peace of mind." ~Robin

Certified as a Master of Yoga Education by Dr. Rao (Babaji), ERYT, Nationally Registered Yoga Instructor, Certified in Color Me Yoga I, Chakra Yoga, Prenatal Yoga, and Thai Yoga Bodywork. Robin also completed the full 40-hour course of Intensive Study in the foundations and teaching techniques of the Primary Series of Ashtanga Yoga with David Swenson.

Robin began practicing Yoga in 1968, in her hometown of Springfield, Vermont. Former manager of Yoga for Life in West Concord, Robin graduated with highest honors from the Hatha and Raja Yoga certification program of The Inner Place of Yoga, Naturally, in 1999. Her certification included the study and practice of many traditions of yoga, including Hatha, Raja, Kripalu, Iyengar and Traditional Indian classes. Robin is also a certified Reiki III Master and Level I Thai Yoga Bodyworker.

My first instructor (in 1968) was Jean Willard and I used to go home after class and teach the poses to my Mom & Dad, nieces, nephew, and friends. I did classes with her for 2 or more years, then I just did yoga informally on my own until 1995. At that point, Rochelle Chambless ( who was a Kripalu Instructor) became my main instructor. I credit her and her encouragement for my full-blown return to yoga and becoming a Yoga Instructor. After becoming certified in 1999, through Annie Lindahl of Yoga Naturally, I began managing Yoga for Life in West Concord. There I had to take classes with each of the instructors and sub for them as needed.

In 2001, I developed my 200-hour YTT Program, which met the Yoga Alliance Standards. I attended sessions with the various other instructors to further my experience and understanding of yoga, and attended other classes as well, including classes with Dr. Rao (Babaji). In 2004, I was certified in Color Me Yoga (Children's Yoga) with Marsha Metzger. In 2005, I was certified in Prenatal Yoga and completed the full Ashtanga Primary Series Yoga Teacher Training with Elena Case of Focal Point Yoga and in 2007, I was certified in Seniors Yoga with Maureen Spencer of Finding Inner Peace Yoga School. In 2008, I was chosen as a participant in a class with Rodney Yee which was taped for PBS. In 2009, I completed the full 40-hour course of Intensive Study in the foundations and teaching techniques of the Primary Series of Ashtanga Yoga with David Swenson. And in 2011, I completed the 100-hour NEXT LEVEL TRAINING COURSE of Intensive Study in the teaching techniques of ASHTANGA INCLUDING THE SECOND SERIES, PRANAYAMA AND PHILOSOPHY with David Swenson.

Yoga Instructors

OUR NEWEST MEMBER OF OUR TEAM OF YOGA INSTRUCTORS!

Paul Joseph has been practicing yoga for many years and is studying under the direction of Robin Anderson towards the 200 hour Yoga Teacher training certification. When it comes to yoga, Paul tends to be conservative. He sticks to classic asanas and sequences that have been developed over the centuries. At the same time, he tries to use findings from neuroscience to select from among the numerous classic asanas and sequences, to find those that should lend themselves well to having a tuned mind and body that will age gracefully. His hour long class focuses on four areas--flexibility, balance, core strength and internal body work.

Kelsey Morgan is a graduate Robin's Yoga & Healing Center in both the 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Certification and the Ashtanga Yoga Certification

Jessica Spinazola is a proud life-long resident of Tewksbury and has been practicing yoga for over ten years. She is a former runner and classically trained dancer, lover of a variety of fitness classes and has a background in rehabilitation.

She has worked with people of all ability levels ranging from fitness fanatics to the severely physically disabled. While studying under the direction of Robin Anderson, Jessica has learned to consciously experience each joy and challenge of life. She truly believes that yoga is for everyone and is committed to adapting the yoga pose to fit each person’s body rather than forcing the body into a pose.

The calm, grounding, mental state yoga provides has helped Jessica endure her life changes and remain focused on achieving her goals. Jessica believes the key to life balance is not to yearn for the past or the future, but to live life earnestly in the present moment.

In the summer of 2013, Jessica studied intensively with Robin Anderson to complete the 40 hour certification in Ashtanga Yoga. She will continue her studies to earn the 200 hour RYT certification in 2013-2014.

Chuck Raffoni - Certified in First Aid/CPR.  Yoga Certifications include :  Pre-Natal, Children’s,  Seniors Yoga, Chakra Yoga, and Restorative Yoga.    Chuck has completed his 200-hour YTT at Robin’s Yoga and Healing Center, LLC

Chuck came to Yoga after being diagnosed with Epstein Barr/ Chronic Fatigue Syndrome in the 90’s.  Traditional doctors were unable to help him, so he pursued a holistic approach that included natural remedies, Tai Chi and Yoga.    Through this combination- he was able to restore his immune system and overcome the challenges he faced.

After many years of sharing his passion for Yoga and holistic medicine, on a casual level with family and friends, he decided to pursue it on a professional level in hopes of sharing his experience and helping others.

Over the years, Chuck’s favorite Yoga teachers have brought levity to their classes making them fun & welcoming to students of all levels while retaining the spiritual traditions of Yoga’s long history.   With that inspiration, Chuck strives to provide the same experience to his students and prove that Yoga can be a meaningful part of everyone’s life.

Rubina Mujtaba - certified as a yoga instructor in Senior’s Yoga, Children’s Yoga, Chakra Yoga, and Ashtanga Yoga. Rubina has completed her 200 hours of Yoga Teacher Training with Robin’s Yoga & Healing Center, LLC.

Rubina took her first yoga class at the age of 17 and knew that it would not be her last. She started teaching yoga to her mother to help her manage pain after surgery, but realized that she needed to learn more to help her and others experience the benefits of the practice.

“In my classes, I use a mixture of yoga styles with which I hope to assist my student in finding peace, love, and compassion that they can bring into their everyday lives. If you are looking to gain strength and flexibility - yoga is a practice you should adopt into your life.

Yoga has helped me tremendously in my healing journey. Through yoga, I found myself healing physically, emotionally and spiritually. Yoga & meditation keep me grounded and centered in our fast-paced society.”

Tracy Newman received her 200-Hour Hatha Yoga Teacher Training from Robin’s Yoga and Healing Center, LLC and is a Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance.  She also holds certifications to teach Seniors Yoga, Children’s Yoga, Pre-Natal Yoga, Chakra Yoga, Restorative Yoga, and is trained in First Aid/CPR through the American Red Cross.

Tracy was practicing yoga regularly as a means to help lower high blood pressure and quickly learned of its deep healing nature.  After seeing great results she was inspired to deepen her practice and began pursuing Yoga Teacher Training.  She plans to continue to broaden her yoga training and hopes to reach out to others and share the health benefits of practicing yoga.  Her classes infuse breath and movement and are designed to tone and strengthen the body, increase flexibility, and calm the mind.  As a Yoga Teacher she hopes to provide a way for her students to bring inner peace and a sense of good health and well-being.

Editorial about Jean Willard, my very first Yoga Instructor

When asked, What would you like to be remembered for?

She replied, "For having worked with children and youth and that I cared about people and my community. [a thoughtful pause ] And no matter how old you are, or how young, there is a meaning to your life and a purpose for it. Remember that each of us has a gift - maybe more than one - we have a place on this earth and a mission to complete."
